The last two months have been eventful! Earlier this month marked 6 months here in the Philippines; it some ways it feels like it was just last weeks, but in other ways it seems like years. Here are some pictures and explanations of what I've been doing :)
I spent almost a week in Bataan (our training site) for Christmas. I had a great time; reconnecting with all the people in Morong was a great time.
Seaweed production is becoming a big business here. It's often touted as a alternative livelihood for fisherfolk. |
This picture is from Anda, Bohol. The island in the distance is part of Mindanao (the forbidden land for Peace Corps Volunteers) |
Everyone just looks so cool. |
Just the coast in Anda... No big deal. |
Just an average day on the water. |
Never skip the opportunity to take a picture of another PCV singing videoke... |
I really miss good burgers... This one was from the TGI Fridays in Olongapo City. I was really excited to get this burger hahaha |
Some really nice gingerbread houses at a mall in Olongapo. |
This starts the second half of my Christmas/New Years vacation. From Bataan, we went to Cebu.
This is the Basilica Santo Niño in Cebu. |
The tiny Santo Niño Chapel |
The outside of the Basilica. The damaged tower is the result of 2013 Bohol Earthquake. You can see the video of it collapsing here. |
The city of Cebu from the Taoist Temple. |
The Great Wall! Just smaller... and much warmer I would assume. |
